Clean the whole glass surface rather than the printed circles, because flexInduction bridges coils and the hot area is wider than the markings suggest. A hob that stops responding after cleaning is almost always a wet control panel protecting itself.
Siemens hobs are BSH engineering shared with Bosch and Neff, and two features change how they should be cleaned.
flexInduction, and where it comes from
Siemens calls its zone bridging flexInduction, and it is the same arrangement Bosch and Neff use under their own names, because all three are BSH. The Siemens-specific point is that if you have a mixed BSH kitchen, the hobs behave the same way whatever the badge says, so one habit covers all of them.
Wet controls lock the hob out
Siemens touch controls are printed on or under the glass, and moisture on the panel triggers phantom touches. Many models respond by locking themselves out entirely.
That is the appliance protecting itself rather than a fault, and it clears once the area is properly dry. Dry the control zone deliberately after cleaning rather than letting it air, and avoid pressing through a spill in the first place. Nothing abrasive should ever cross the controls, because on models where the markings sit on the surface a scourer wears them away permanently.
The rest is standard glass care

The glass edge and the benchtop join
Siemens hobs are usually frameless, sitting flush into the benchtop with a bead of silicone around the glass edge rather than a stainless surround.
That bead is where spills collect, it is slightly below the cooking surface so nothing wipes it clean by accident, and on a dark stone benchtop it is genuinely hard to see until it has darkened.
Run a damp cloth around the whole perimeter whenever you clean the glass. If it has already hardened, lay a warm damp cloth along it for ten minutes before working it with a soft brush, and keep anything sharp away from it, because the silicone underneath is what stops water reaching the cabinetry below.
What actually goes wrong
A spill left in an apparent gap between zones, which bonds under a large pan.
A hob that will not respond, which is moisture rather than a fault.
