Microwave Cleaning
Microwave Cleaning, Sydney
$65 added to a booking*
The roof of a microwave is the part nobody can see and nobody cleans, and it is where the smell lives. We take the turntable and rollers out, lift the splatter off the cavity and roof, and sanitise the seal.

The bit you cannot see
It is the roof, not the plate
Almost everybody wipes the floor of a microwave, because that is where the spill lands and it is the surface you look at when the door opens. Very few people ever clean the roof, and the roof is where the problem is. Steam carries fat upward, it condenses on the coldest surface it meets, and repeated heating cycles bake it into a thin brown film that is well past the reach of a cloth. That film is what makes a microwave smell of last week rather than of nothing.
The second place is the waveguide cover, the small panel on the side wall. It is porous, it absorbs splatter, and once it is saturated it starts to char in use. We clean it rather than scrub it apart, because a damaged cover is a repair rather than a clean, and we will tell you if yours is past cleaning instead of quietly making it worse.
Then there are the parts that lift out: the turntable, its ring and the rollers underneath. Spill runs off the plate and dries under the ring, so the roller track is usually the dirtiest part of the whole appliance. It comes out and goes into the same heated bath as the oven racks, which is the one advantage of us being there for a bigger job anyway.
Everything we use is non-caustic and food-safe, which matters more here than almost anywhere else in the kitchen: a microwave is a small sealed box you then heat food inside. There is no residue to burn off and nothing to air out. It is usable the moment we close the door.
Every clean
What is included
Two prices, one condition
Microwave cleaning prices
All prices GST-inclusive. A microwave is added to a booking rather than booked on its own.
* Prices are indicative only and may vary with the size and condition of the appliance, how heavily soiled it is, and your location. Your operator will confirm the final price.
A combination microwave-oven unit is a different job and a different line.
The package rate
Why it costs less on a package
There is nothing different about the clean. The difference is what the visit costs us. A microwave takes about half an hour, and on its own that half hour has to carry the drive, the set-up and the pack-up of a whole call-out. On a package the operator is already in your kitchen for most of a morning with the bath hot and the parts already soaking, so the marginal cost is genuinely just the half hour.
So we charge for the half hour rather than for a call-out that is not happening. That is the whole basis of the package rate, and it is why it is not available on a single-appliance booking: there, the call-out is real.
It applies on any of our packages, not only the largest one. If your booking is an oven and a cooktop, that is already a package, and the microwave comes down.

The Full Valet, from $585
A microwave on its own is a short visit. It is worth almost nothing extra on a visit that is already happening. Adding the cooktop to an oven clean is $75 instead of $115, and the rangehood is the same. Take all four appliances together and the package is from $585 against $715 booked one at a time, so you keep $130 and three of the four mornings. It is booked as your operator's whole day, so yours is the only job they take.
- Standard Oven (up to 600mm)
- Cooktop (4 burners)
- Rangehood (up to 600mm)
- 3-Burner BBQ
